The present Gyalwang Drukpa is the twelfth incarnation of the founder of the Drukpa Lineage, Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje (1161-1211). The successive reincarnations of the Drogon Tsangpa Gyare are recognized as the Spiritual Head of the Drukpa Lineage and responsible for the spiritual guidance of over 800 Drukpa Monasteries, in Tibet, Nepal, Ladakh, Garsha Kinnuar and other parts of the Indian Himalyas.

Today, on this very auspicious day of Sangye & Nyangde Düchen, we decided to release lives to dedicate the merits to His Holiness long life.
We went to the market and bought around 3200 winkles. Before going to the sea side to give their freedom back to the winkles, we did a prayer, recited Chenrezi mantras, and a few circumambulations with the animals around blessed statues and texts as it is described in one book in which it is described how to do this in order to benefit for the animals and give them good connections with the Dharma for their next lives. We then went to the sea, put some water on the animals in which we had previously put some sacred pills, and release the small animals in the ocean.
Some long life prayer for His Holiness were also recited and the merits were dedicated to His Holiness long life.
