The present Gyalwang Drukpa is the twelfth incarnation of the founder of the Drukpa Lineage, Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje (1161-1211). The successive reincarnations of the Drogon Tsangpa Gyare are recognized as the Spiritual Head of the Drukpa Lineage and responsible for the spiritual guidance of over 800 Drukpa Monasteries, in Tibet, Nepal, Ladakh, Garsha Kinnuar and other parts of the Indian Himalyas.

Over the last four months, following your kind instructions, we have devoutly been practising Amitayus, releasing lives on the 10th day of every Tibetan Calendar month. In addition, in our everyday’s practition and praying at Bodhimandala, we also maintain Amitayus mantras recitation. All is to devote to His Holiness’ longevity!
For us, the new and lazy practitioners, the opportunity to practice liberation Dharma on the day of good fortune is a great blessing extended by you, the precious Gurus. We are also aware that, this chance is just once in a very short life time, that reminds us of impermanence, of life’s value, taking refuge in dharma, reminds us to look back into ourselves and make progress in pratice.
